Moduli entrapment with primordial black holes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2005
We argue that primordial black holes in the early universe can provide an efficient resolution of the Brustein-Steinhardt moduli overshoot problem in string cosmology. When the universe is created near the Planck scale, all the available states in the theory are excited by strong interactions and cosmological particle production.

Near-extremal charged black holes: greybody factors and evolution

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
As a charged black hole reaches its extremal state via Hawking radiation, quantum effects become important for its thermodynamic properties when its temperature is below a mass gap scale. Using AdS2/CFT1 correspondence and solutions for the corresponding

Properties and Dispersal of a Hydrothermal Plume in a Weakly Stratified Under‐Ice Environment

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract The Aurora vent field (82°53.83′N, 6°15.32′W) is located in the weakly stratified Arctic Ocean under perennial ice cover at the western edge of the ultraslow‐spreading Gakkel Ridge, the slowest spreading mid‐ocean ridge on Earth. Here, we report data on the dispersal of the proximal hydrothermal plume in this extreme environment.

Primordial black holes as supermassive black hole seeds

open access: yesJournal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics
Abstract The presence of supermassive black holes (SMBHs, M • ∼ 106-10 M ⊙) in the first cosmic Gyr (z ≳ 6) challenges current models of BH formation and evolution. We propose a novel mechanism for the formation of early SMBH seeds based on primordial black holes (PBHs).

Evolution of primordial black holes in Jordan-Brans-Dicke cosmology

open access: yes, 2008
We consider the evolution of primordial black holes in a generalyzed Jordan-Brans-Dicke cosmological model where both the Brans-Dicke scalar field and its coupling to gravity are dynamical functions determined from the evolution equations.

Spin distribution of primordial black holes [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, 2017
We estimate the spin distribution of primordial black holes based on the recent study of the critical phenomena in the gravitational collapse of a rotating radiation fluid. We find that primordial black holes are mostly slowly rotating.

Determining the spin of light primordial black holes with Hawking radiation. Part II. High spin regime

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We propose a method to determine the mass and spin of primordial black holes based on measuring the energy and emission rate at the dipolar and quadrupolar peaks in the primary photon Hawking spectrum, applicable for dimensionless spin parameters a ~ $$ \
