Turning in the landscape: A new mechanism for generating primordial black holes

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2023
We propose a new model-independent mechanism for producing primordial black holes from a period of multi-field inflation. This requires an enhancement of primordial fluctuations at short scales compared to their value at CMB scales.

Hawking-Moss transition with a black hole seed

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We extend the concept of Hawking-Moss, or up-tunnelling, transitions in the early universe to include black hole seeds. The black hole greatly enhances the decay amplitude, however, order to have physically consistent results, we need to impose a new ...

Quantum aspects of black holes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This is a brief introduction to quantum aspects of black holes, addressed at an astrophysics-oriented audience. The topics are: The laws of black-hole mechanics, Hawking radiation, interpretation of entropy, and primordial black holes.Comment: 20 pages ...

Did NANOGrav See a Signal from Primordial Black Hole Formation? [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2020
We show that the recent NANOGrav result can be interpreted as a stochastic gravitational wave signal associated to formation of primordial black holes from high-amplitude curvature perturbations.

Dynamics of Primordial Black Hole Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We present a numerical investigation of the gravitational collapse of horizon-size density fluctuations to primordial black holes (PBHs) during the radiation-dominated phase of the Early Universe.

Primordial black hole evolution in two-fluid cosmology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Several processes in the early universe might lead to the formation of primordial black holes with different masses. These black holes would interact with the cosmic plasma through accretion and emission processes.

Primordial Black Hole Scenario for the Gravitational-Wave Event GW150914. [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2016
We point out that the gravitational-wave event GW150914 observed by the LIGO detectors can be explained by the coalescence of primordial black holes (PBHs).

Prospects for probing gravitational waves from primordial black hole binaries [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2021
We study the prospects of future gravitational wave (GW) detectors in probing primordial black hole (PBH) binaries. We show that across a broad mass range from $10^{-5}M_\odot$ to $10^7M_\odot$, future GW interferometers provide a potential probe of the ...

Dark fluxes from accreting black holes through several mechanisms

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2022
We discuss the possibility that accreting black hole systems can be sources for dark matter flux through several different mechanisms. We firstly discuss two types of systems‘: coronal thermal plasmas around supermassive black holes in active galactic ...
