Observed Evidence for the Primordial Origin of Galaxy Sizes
We present observational evidence supporting the scenario that the protogalactic angular momenta play an important role in molding the optical sizes of present galaxies. Analyzing the NASA-Sloan Atlas catalog in the redshift range of 0.02 ≤ z

Magnetic helicity in primordial and dynamo scenarios of galaxies [PDF]
Some common properties of helical magnetic fields in decaying and driven turbulence are discussed. These include mainly the inverse cascade that produces fields on progressively larger scales.

Probing Primordial Chirality with Galaxy Spins [PDF]
Chiral symmetry is maximally violated in weak interactions, and such microscopic asymmetries in the early Universe might leave observable imprints on astrophysical scales without violating the cosmological principle. In this Letter, we propose a helicity measurement to detect primordial chiral violation.

Primordial Supernovae and the Assembly of the First Galaxies [PDF]
AbstractCurrent numerical studies suggest that the first protogalaxies formed a few stars at a time and were enriched only gradually by the first heavy elements. However, these models do not resolve primordial supernova (SN) explosions or the mixing of their heavy elements with ambient gas, which could result in intervening, prompt generations of low ...

A primordial feature at the scale of superclusters of galaxies [PDF]
We investigate a spatially-flat cold dark matter model (with the matter density parameter $Ω_m=0.3$) with a primordial feature in the initial power spectrum. We assume that there is a bump in the power spectrum of density fluctuations at wavelengths $λ\sim 30-60h^{-1}$Mpc, which correspond to the scale of superclusters of galaxies.

Magnetic Fields in Primordial Galaxies
Magnetic fields play a vital role in numerous astrophysical processes such as star formation and the interstellar medium. In particular, their role in the formation and evolution of galaxies is not well understood. This paper presents high-resolution magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulations performed with GIZMO to investigate the effect of magnetic fields

Astroparticle Constraints from Cosmic Reionization and Primordial Galaxy Formation
We derived astroparticle constraints in different dark matter scenarios that are alternatives to cold dark matter (CDM): thermal relic warm dark matter, WDM; fuzzy dark matter, ψDM; self-interacting dark matter, SIDM; sterile neutrino dark matter, νDM ...

Tests for primordial non-Gaussianity [PDF]
We investigate the relative sensitivities of several tests for deviations from Gaussianity in the primordial distribution of density perturbations. We consider models for non-Gaussianity that mimic that which comes from inflation as well as that which ...

Clustercentric Distance or Local Density? It Depends on Galaxy Morphology
Determining which between projected local density and distance from the cluster center plays a major role in regulating morphological fractions in clusters is a longstanding debate.
