Imprint of galactic rotation curves and metric fluctuations on the recombination era anisotropy

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2023
In applications of the conformal gravity theory it has been shown that a scale of order 105 Mpc due to large scale inhomogeneities such as clusters of galaxies is imprinted on the rotation curves of galaxies.

Random Primordial Magnetic Fields and the Gas Content of Dark Matter Halos

open access: yes, 2010
We recently predicted the existence of random primordial magnetic fields (RPMF) in the form of randomly oriented cells with dipole-like structure with a cell size $L_0$ and an average magnetic field $B_0$.

Strong Primordial Inhomogeneities and Galaxy Formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The modern theory of the cosmological large-scale structure is based on the assumption that this structure is formed as the result of development of gravitational instability from small initial perturbations of density or gravitational potential. As a rule, these perturbations are Gaussian, but some versions of non-Gaussian perturbations are also ...

Noble gases and nitrogen in material from asteroid Bennu

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We report the elemental and isotopic abundances of all stable noble gases (helium, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon) in eight particles from asteroid Bennu returned by NASA's OSIRIS‐REx mission. We also report nitrogen abundances and isotopic ratios that were analyzed alongside neon and argon in four additional Bennu particles.

Violent Starbursts and Quiescence Induced by Far-ultraviolet Radiation Feedback in Metal-poor Galaxies at High Redshift

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
JWST observations of galaxies at z ≳ 8 suggest that they are more luminous and clumpier than predicted by most models, prompting several proposals on the physics of star formation and feedback in the first galaxies. In this paper, we focus on the role of

Blue compact galaxies and the primordial 4Helium abundance

open access: yes, 2000
Blue compact galaxies (BCG) are ideal objects in which to derive the primordial 4He abundance because they are chemically young and have not had a significant stellar He contribution.

Identifying Old Tidal Dwarf Irregulars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We examine the observational consequences of the two possible origins for irregular galaxies: formation from collapse of a primordial cloud of gas early in the age of the Universe, and formation from tidal tails in an interaction that could have occured ...

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

Scaling Laws for Dark Matter Halos in Late-Type and Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Maximum disk mass models fitted to galaxy rotation curves are used to show that dark matter (DM) halos in late-type and dwarf spheroidal (dSph) galaxies satisfy well defined scaling laws.

Primordial magnetic field constraints from the end of reionization

open access: yes, 2011
Primordial magnetic fields generated in the early universe are subject of considerable investigation, and observational limits on their strength are required to constrain the theory.
