Production of TiNi/Ti2AlN Multilayer Films with Different Numbers of Layers and Evolution of Tribological and Adhesion Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
TiNi/Ti2AlN MAX phase films with different layer numbers are synthesized using a closed‐field unbalanced magnetron sputtering system. Their structural, mechanical, and tribological properties, as well as adhesion and fatigue performance, are analyzed as a function of the layer count to understand the effects of multilayer architecture on overall ...

A Hybrid Analysis for Security Protocols with State [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Cryptographic protocols rely on message-passing to coordinate activity among principals. Each principal maintains local state in individual local sessions only as needed to complete that session. However, in some protocols a principal also uses state to coordinate its different local sessions.

On the Rigidity and Mechanical Behavior of Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces‐Based Lattices: Insights from Extensive Experiments and Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical properties of triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS)‐based lattices, analyzing 36 architectures in elastic and plastic regimes. It evaluates the applicability of beam‐based scaling laws to TPMS lattices. Rigidity arises from the alignment of members with the load direction and solid regions preventing rotation.

Functional Recycling and Reuse of Nd–Fe–B Permanent Magnets from Various Waste Streams for a more Sustainable and Resilient Electromobility

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Due to the increasing demand and growing importance of resilient and sustainable supply chains, the use of recycled and reused Nd–Fe–B magnets in e‐mobility applications such as Pedelecs, e‐Scooters, and Hoverboards is being investigated. It can be shown that the corresponding motors with recycled magnets do not exhibit any loss of performance while at
