ON FUNDAMENTAL SOLUTIONS OF OPERATORS OF PRINCIPAL AND NONPRINCIPAL TYPES
Acta Mathematica Scientia, 1981This paper deals with the construction of fundamental solutions for some special classes of partial differential operators with simple and multiple characteristics. To do this, an analytic continuation with respect to the dual variable \(\xi\) is done and the construction of a parametrix for classical elliptic equations is applied.

MARKER VARIABLE FACTOR ANALYSIS: A REGIONAL PRINCIPAL AXES SOLUTION
Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1974Marker variable factor analysis is a method for obtaining an oblique simple structure in which primary axes are principal axes of homogeneous sub- sets of test variables. The method can be used as a confirmatory analysis t o evaluate the adequacy of an hypothesized factor structure, or it can be employed t o yield a superior factor structure associated

Exact motion planning solution for principally kinematic systems
2011 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2011In this paper, we take a rather new approach to solving the motion planning problem for principally kinematic systems, that is, systems whose dynamics is completely specified by the right number of nonholonomic constraints. Given a planar curve in the Special Euclidean group, we analytically solve for the base variables that locomote the principally ...

Bounded solutions of differential inclusions with homogeneous principal parts
Izvestiya: Mathematics, 2000In the first part of the paper, the author establishes formulae for the calculation of the index of the zero singular point of a homogeneous multivalued vector field. These formulae can be applied to the study of inclusions of the type \(0 \in F(x)\) for obtaining, for example, upper and lower estimates for the number of solutions of this inclusion. In

Principal Components of Natural Images: An Analytical Solution
1993Abstract : The structure of receptive fields in the visual cortex is believed to be shaped by unsupervised learning. A simple variant of unsupervised learning is the extraction of principal components. In this paper, we derived analytically the form of the principal components of natural images.

Solutions to Principal-Agent Problems in Firms
2005There are many settings in which one economic actor (the principal) delegates authority to an agent to act on her behalf .T h ep r imary reason for doing so is that the agent has an advantage in terms of expertise or information. This informational advantage, or information asymmetry, poses a problem for the principal—how can th ep rincipa lb e sure ...
