A solution space principal component based adaptive filter

2004 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2004
This paper introduces a new type of adaptive filter called PCP, principal component proportionate normalized least mean squares. It is an extension of PNLMS (proportionate normalized least mean squares), an adaptive filter that has been shown to provide exceptionally fast convergence and tracking when the underlying system parameters are sparse (as in ...

Bounded solutions of differential inclusions with homogeneous principal parts

Izvestiya: Mathematics, 2000
In the first part of the paper, the author establishes formulae for the calculation of the index of the zero singular point of a homogeneous multivalued vector field. These formulae can be applied to the study of inclusions of the type \(0 \in F(x)\) for obtaining, for example, upper and lower estimates for the number of solutions of this inclusion. In

Principal Components of Natural Images: An Analytical Solution

1993
Abstract : The structure of receptive fields in the visual cortex is believed to be shaped by unsupervised learning. A simple variant of unsupervised learning is the extraction of principal components. In this paper, we derived analytically the form of the principal components of natural images.

Exact Solutions for Recursive Principal Components Analysis of Sequences and Trees

2006
We show how a family of exact solutions to the Recursive Principal Components Analysis learning problem can be computed for sequences and tree structured inputs. These solutions are derived from eigenanalysis of extended vectorial representations of the input structures and substructures.
