Productivity‐Driven Optimization of Laser Powder Bed Fusion Parameters for IN718 Superalloy: Process Control, Microstructure, and Mechanical Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates how optimizing laser power, scanning speed, and hatching distance in laser powder bed fusion can boost the productivity of Inconel 718 manufacturing by up to 29% while maintaining mechanical integrity. The work delivers a validated process window and cost–time analysis, offering industry‐ready guidelines for efficient additive ...

Full-field pulsed magneto-photoelasticity – Experimental Implementation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper contains a description of the experimental procedure employed when using a pulsed-magneto-polariscope (PMP) and some initial full-field through-thickness measurements of the stress distribution present in samples containing 3D stresses.

Multifunctional Crushing and Piezoresistive Self‐Sensing in Conductive Epoxy/CNT‐Coated Polyetherimide TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports lightweight polyetherimide triply periodic minimal surfaces lattices coated with carbon nanotube‐reinforced epoxy that combine mechanical robustness with self‐sensing. The conformal coating enhances stiffness, strength and energy absorption while enabling reliable strain monitoring.

A full-plane strain complex variable analytical model considering three-dimensional principal stress rotation and its engineering applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology
To explore the influence of stress space rotation on roadway stability, this study establishes Cartesian and principal stress axes, obtains principal stress characteristic parameters and direction cosine matrix, and determines the conversion process ...

Improvement of Fourier Polarimetry for applications in tomographic photoelasticity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The use of the Fourier Polarimetry method has been demonstrated to extract the three characteristic parameters in integrated photoelasticity. In contrast to the phase-stepping method, it has been shown that the Fourier method is more accurate.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

A Turbulent Constitutive Law for the Two-Dimensional Inverse Energy Cascade

open access: yes, 2005
We develop a fundamental approach to a turbulent constitutive law for the 2D inverse cascade, based upon a convergent multi-scale gradient (MSG) expansion.

R fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A theory of collisionless fluids is developed in a unified picture, where nonrotating figures with anisotropic random velocity component distributions and rotating figures with isotropic random velocity component distributions, make adjoints ...
