Mirror Principle. III [PDF]

open access: yesSurveys in Differential Geometry, 1999
We generalize the theorems in {\it Mirror Principle I} and {\it II} to the case of general projective manifolds without the convexity assumption. We also apply the results to balloon manifolds, and generalize to higher genus.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITY (THE CONSTITUTIONAL DESIGN)

open access: yesГуманитарные и юридические исследования, 2021
The article studies basic elements of the constitutional design of the administrative responsibility: proportionality of the restriction of citizens' rights and freedoms to the constitutionally signiicant interests and goals; presence of guilt as an ...

Darwin's Principle of Divergence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Darwin's famous book, is not an easy book for the reader. Especially, the central part of his doctrine addressing the problem of how a small difference between varieties of a single species may become larger and larger and become a large difference ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Exploring an extention of Dick’s “intelligence principle” [PDF]

open access: yesS&F_scienzaefilosofia.it, 2023
Exploring an extension to Dick's "intelligence principle" Revisiting Dick’s “Intelligence Principle” in the light of recent technological developments, I present an argument for why one might consider a slight extension to the Principle and I explore ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Quantum speed limits: from Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle to optimal quantum control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
One of the most widely known building blocks of modern physics is Heisenberg’s indeterminacy principle. Among the different statements of this fundamental property of the full quantum mechanical nature of physical reality, the uncertainty relation for ...
