Inferring Quality in Point Cloud-based 3D Printed Objects using Topological Data Analysis [PDF]
Assessing the quality of 3D printed models before they are printed remains a challeng- ing problem, particularly when considering point cloud-based models. This paper introduces an approach to quality assessment, which uses techniques from the field of Topological Data Analy- sis (TDA) to compute a topological abstraction of the eventual printed model.

Invited Article: 4D Printing as a New Paradigm for Manufacturing with Minimum Energy Consumption [PDF]
4D printing is a new manufacturing paradigm that combines stimuli-responsive materials, mathematics, and multi-material additive manufacturing to yield encoded multi-material structures with intelligent behavior over time. This emerging field has received growing interests from various disciplines such as space exploration, renewable energy ...

Engravings and reproductions: the diffusion of the image of the art, stimuli and references
This article studies the role of print and reproduction print as a source and inspiration for the artist. Therefore, it is important to see them as a documentary source for the art historian as well.

On M-unambiguity of Parikh matrices
The Parikh matrix mapping was introduced by Mateescu et al. in 2001 as a canonical generalization of the classical Parikh mapping. The injectivity problem of Parikh matrices, even for ternary case, has withstanded numerous attempts over a decade by ...

Liquid Phase 3D Printing for Quickly Manufacturing Metal Objects with Low Melting Point Alloy Ink [PDF]
Conventional 3D printings are generally time-consuming and printable metal inks are rather limited. From an alternative way, we proposed a liquid phase 3D printing for quickly making metal objects. Through introducing metal alloys whose melting point is slightly above room temperature as printing inks, several representative structures spanning from ...

3D Printing of Scintillating Materials [PDF]
We demonstrate, for the first time, the applicability of 3D printing technique to the manufacture of scintillation detectors. We report of a formulation, usable in stereolithographic printing, that exhibits scintillation efficiency on the order of 30\% of that of commercial polystyrene based scintillators.

Three‐dimensional print of a liver for preoperative planning in living donor liver transplantation
The growing demand for liver transplantation and the concomitant scarcity of cadaveric livers have increased the need for living donor liver transplantation (LDLT). Ensuring the safety of donors and recipients is critical. The preoperative identification
