Design Optimization of a Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger Using Surrogate Models

Journal of Fluid Machinery, 2011
Shape optimization of a Printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) has been performed by using three-dimensional Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (3-D RANS) analysis and surrogate modeling techniques. The objective function is defined as a linear combination of effectiveness of the PCHE term and pressure drop in the cold channels of the PCHE.

Performance Analysis of Printed Circuit Heat Exchanger for Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

Journal of Heat Transfer, 2017
A printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) was selected as the recuperator of supercritical carbon dioxide (S-CO2) Brayton cycle, and the segmental design method was employed to accommodate the rapid variations of properties of S-CO2. The local heat capacity rate ratio has crucial influences on the local thermal performance of PCHE, while having small ...

Effect of tangled channels on the heat transfer in a printed circuit heat exchanger

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2017
Abstract The heat exchangers used in thermoelectric power generation are required to achieve an optimal efficiency by comparing heat transfer that is related to the power generation into the consumption of pump power. The main objective of this study is to enhance heat transfer at a lower flow rate using a tangled channel.

Experimental investigation of heat transfer coefficient of mini-channel PCHE (printed circuit heat exchanger)

Cryogenics, 2018
Abstract Heat transfer coefficient of a mini-channel printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) with counter-flow configuration is investigated. The PCHE used in the experiments is two layered (10 channels per layer) and has the hydraulic diameter of 1.83 mm. Experiments are conducted under various cryogenic heat transfer conditions: single-phase, boiling
