A Variational Beam Model for Failure of Cellular and Truss‐Based Architected Materials
Herein, a versatile and efficient beam modeling framework is developed to predict the nonlinear response and failure of cellular, truss‐based, and woven architected materials. It enables the exploration of their design space and the optimization of their mechanical behavior in the nonlinear regime. A variational formulation of a beam model is presented

Geometric Modeling and Physics Simulation Framework for Building a Digital Twin of Extrusion-based Additive Manufacturing [PDF]
Accurate simulation of the printing process is essential for improving print quality, reducing waste, and optimizing the printing parameters of extrusion-based additive manufacturing. Traditional additive manufacturing simulations are very compute-intensive and are not scalable to simulate even moderately-sized geometries.

Triplet Fusion Upconversion Nanocapsules for Volumetric 3D Printing [PDF]
Two-photon photopolymerization delivers prints without support structures and minimizes layering artifacts in a broad range of materials. This volumetric printing approach scans a focused light source throughout the entire volume of a resin vat and takes advantage of the quadratic power dependence of two photon absorption to produce photopolymerization

Grain structure control during metal 3D printing by high-intensity ultrasound
Additive manufacturing (AM) of metals, also known as metal 3D printing, typically leads to the formation of columnar grain structures along the build direction in most as-built metals and alloys.

A numerical scheme is presented to design a lattice support for metallic components additively built via laser powder bed fusion. Results show that thermal‐induced distortion can be respectively reduced by 69%, 58%, and 50% in comparison to a uniform lattice, a fully solid support, and a truss‐based lattice support.

Printing and Calico Printing [PDF]
As all that I am ever personally concerned to know is the truth of a matter, I am glad to stand corrected by the writer of the article on Calico-Printing in the “Encyclopaedia Britannica.” The claim I made, however, for the author of the “Natural History of Enthusiasm” was not my own invention; and it would be of interest, I think, to the many who must

A process parameters dataset for the extrusion 3D printing of nutraceutical oral dosage forms formulated with monoglycerides oleogels and phytosterols mixtures [PDF]
We report the parameter settings used in different 3D printing tests carried out to evaluate the production of nutraceutical oral forms by using mixtures of monoglycerides oleogels and phytosterols as printing materials.
