Feedback in LT Codes for Prioritized and Non-Prioritized Data
2012 IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2012In this paper feedback in LT codes is investigated. The considered type of feedback is acknowledgments, where information on which symbols have been decoded is given to the transmitter. Our analysis reveals that acknowledgments has a very low potential in LT codes with standard degree distributions.

Interconnection and Prioritization
2016We analyze pricing and competition under paid prioritization within a model of interconnected internet service providers (ISPs), heterogeneous content providers (CPs) and heterogeneous consumers. We show that prioritization is welfare superior to a regime without prioritization (network neutrality) but yields lower incentives for investment in network ...

Microlevel Prioritizations and Incommensurability
Cambridge Quarterly of Healthcare Ethics, 2017Abstract:This article addresses the prioritization questions that arise when people attempt to institutionalize reasonable ethical principles and create guidelines for microlevel decisions. I propose that this instantiates an incommensurability problem, and suggest two different kinds of practical solutions for dealing with this issue.

The Need Is to Prioritize, Not Ration
HealthcarePapers, 2001The Canadian model of medicare is based on shared values among governments, providers of care and the consumers of care. Reasoning with prioritized defaults
1998The purpose of this paper is to investigate the methodology of reasoning with prioritized defaults in the language of logic programs under the answer set semantics. We present a domain independent system of axioms, written as an extended logic program, which defines reasoning with prioritized defaults.

Prioritized autoepistemic logic
2005An important problem in data and knowledge representation is the possibility of default rules that conflict. If the application of both of two default rules leads to a contradiction, they cannot both be applied. Systems that support the use of default rules may either remain indifferent or prioritize one rule over the other. In this paper a prioritized

Software requirements prioritizing
Proceedings of the Second International Conference on Requirements Engineering, 2002The importance of candidate software requirements can vary by orders of magnitude, yet most software providers do not have accurate and efficient means for selecting among them. The paper describes a case study at Ericsson Radio Systems AB of two techniques for software requirements prioritizing as a means for determining the importance of candidate ...
