Cross-modal aftereffects of visuo-manual prism adaptation: Transfer to auditory divided attention in healthy subjects.

open access: yesNeuropsychology, 2022
Prism adaptation was shown to modify auditory perception. Using a dichotic listening task, which assesses auditory divided attention, benefits of a rightward prism adaptation were demonstrated in neglect patients (i.e., a syndrome following right hemisphere brain damage) by reducing their left auditory extinction.

Effects of methamphetamine on locomotor activity and thalamic gene expression in leptin-deficient obese mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Leptin is an adipose-derived hormone that regulates energy balance. Leptin receptors are expressed in extrahypothalamic sites and several reports showed that leptin can influence feeding and locomotor behavior via direct actions on dopaminergic neurons ...

Frequency‐ and Layer‐Specific Modulation of Cortical Neuronal Activity by Pulsed Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
High‐frequency electrical stimulation induces stronger activation in excitatory neurons, while both frequencies enhanced similar activation in inhibitory neurons. Both frequencies modulate neuronal rhythm and coherence in excitatory and inhibitory neurons similarly.

Perceptual Calibration of F0 Production: Evidence from Feedback Perturbation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Hearing one’s own speech is important for language learning and maintenance of accurate articulation. For example, people with postlinguistically acquired deafness often show a gradual deterioration of many aspects of speech production.

Predictability is necessary for closed-loop visual feedback delay adaptation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Rohde M, van Dam L, Ernst MO. Predictability is necessary for closed-loop visual feedback delay adaptation. Journal of Vision. 2014;14(3):4.In case of delayed visual feedback during visuomotor tasks, like in some sluggish computer games, humans can ...

Slower rates of prism adaptation but intact aftereffects in patients with early to mid-stage Parkinson's disease

open access: yesNeuropsychologia, 2023
There is currently mixed evidence on the effect of Parkinson's disease on motor adaptation. Some studies report that patients display adaptation comparable to age-matched controls, while others report a complete inability to adapt to novel sensory perturbations.

Improving Adult Vision Through Pathway‐Specific Training in Augmented Reality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 21, June 5, 2025.
Traditional perceptual training approaches are limited by stimulus specificity, treatment efficacy, and patient compliance. A novel altered reality (AR) method is developed to enhance pathway‐specific functions in human adults while performing everyday activities.

Prismatic adaptation changes visuospatial representation in the inferior parietal lobule. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Prismatic adaptation has been shown to induce a realignment of visuoproprioceptive representations and to involve parietocerebellar networks. We have investigated in humans how far other types of functions known to involve the parietal cortex are ...

Investigating the Effects of Anodal Transcranial Pulsed Current Stimulation at Low Frequencies (0.5 to 5 Hz) on Corticospinal and Corticocortical Excitability

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 62, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT The mechanism underlying transcranial pulsed current stimulation (tPCS) as a non‐invasive neuromodulation technique has garnered considerable attention in recent years. However, the effects of anodal tPCS (a‐tPCS) at low frequencies remain unexplored.
