Privacy Preserving Multidimensional Profiling

open access: yes, 2018
Recently, big data had become central in the analysis of human behavior and the development of innovative services. In particular, a new class of services is emerging, taking advantage of different sources of data, in order to consider the multiple aspects of human beings.

Speckle‐Engineered Upconversion Amplification in Nanoemulsion‐Templated Hydrogel Microdomes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoemulsion‐confined PEGDA microdomes generate speckle‐like excitation fields that strongly amplify upconversion luminescence upon dehydration, enabling filter‐free visible readout with reversible on–off switching. DMD‐based lithography yields scalable, shape‐programmable arrays for moisture‐responsive displays and optical encryption.

A Privacy-Preserving Ticketing System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Electronic identity (eID) cards are deployed in an increasing number of countries. These cards often provide digital authentication and digital signature capabilities, but have at the same time serious privacy shortcomings. We can expect that ordering and issuing tickets for events (e.g. soccer matches) will be increasingly done using eID cards, hence,

Solution‐Processed Two‐Dimensional Indium Oxide on Sodium‐Embedded Alumina for Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Self‐Adaptive Anhydrous Passivation Mitigates Open‐Circuit Voltage Loss in Pb‐Sn Mixed Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this report, a self‐adaptive anhydrous passivation strategy is introduced by incorporating trimellitic anhydride (TMAH) into the perovskite precursor. In situ hydrolysis of TMAH yields trimellitic acid (TMA); ‐C═O/‐COO− groups of TMAH/TMA form a chelate with undercoordinated Pb2+/Sn2+, regulate nucleation, promote (100) orientation, passivate ...

Long‐Range Coordination Environment Modulates Single‐Atom Local States and Systemic Impact on CO2 Photoconversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Terminal groups on Cu porphyrins modulate the electronic states of single‐atom Cu centers through a long‐range electronic effect, without altering the Cu coordination geometry. Meanwhile, a multi‐descriptor framework is established that incorporates porphyrin regulation, hybrid catalyst properties, and CO2 photoreduction capabilities.

Translational Considerations for Injectable Biomaterials and Bioscaffolds to Repair and Regenerate Brain Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...

Privacy Preserving Event Detection

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory
This paper presents a privacy-preserving event detection scheme based on measurements made by a network of sensors. A diameter-like decision statistic made up of the marginal types of the measurements observed by the sensors is employed. The proposed detection scheme can achieve the best type-I error exponent as the type-II error rate is required to be
