Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Positive Psychology & Sustainable Behavior: The Effect of Perceived Social Support on Individuals’ Pro-Environmental Behavior

open access: yesSAGE Open
Both positive psychology and pro-environmental behavior are highly associated with individuals’ well-being. While previous studies have investigated the drivers of sustainable behavior, very few pieces have examined the influence of perceived social ...

Using visual cues for promoting a pro-environmental behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
El uso excesivo de bolsas plásticas tiene severas consecuencias ambientales. El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar la influencia de un estímulo visual alusivo a la contaminación ambiental para reducir la conducta de llevar bolsas plásticas en un ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

PRO-ENVIRONMENTAL BEHAVIORS IN TÜRKIYE: A SCALE DEVELOPMENT STUDY

open access: yesAnkara Üniversitesi Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesi Dergisi
The increase in the global temperature, wildfires, and droughts that occurred in the past decades have presented a preview of what would happen if people do not start taking action to protect the environment. Considering the importance of human actions to save the planet, we developed a culture-specific tool to measure pro-environmental behaviors in ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Pro-Environmental Behavior Model among University Students

open access: yesPsympathic: Jurnal Ilmiah Psikologi
Environmental behavior is essential for maintaining environmental quality and human life. According to the rational perspective from Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), belief, personal norm, and perceived behavioral control (PBC) affect actions through ...
