Inducing pro-environmental behaviour in National Health Service (NHS) to reduce energy costs using persuasive technology techniques [PDF]
Hospitals represent a busy environment when considering energy consumption in the building sector. Electricity represents a crucial powering source in hospitals including, but not limited to, lighting, catering and medical equipment.

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

The Environmental Porter Hypothesis: Theory, Evidence and a Model of Timing of Adoption [PDF]
The Porter Hypothesis postulates that the costs of compliance with environmental standards may be offset by adoption of innovations they trigger. We model this hypothesis using a game of timing of technology adoption.

This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.
