A Short and Partial History of Probabilistic Normed Spaces

Mediterranean Journal of Mathematics, 2006
This contribution aims at presenting a survey of a portion of the theory of Probabilistic Normed spaces. No result will be proved, so that the reader is referred to the original sources for the proofs. The theory of PN spaces has many facets and touches on many branches of mathematics, for instance, geometry, functional analysis, topology, probability.

On the Uniqueness of p-Best Approximation in Probabilistic Normed Spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nonlinear Sciences and Numerical Simulation, 2017
Abstract The main aim of this paper is to present some basic as well as essential results involving the notion of p-Chebyshev sets in probabilistic normed spaces. In particular, we discuss the convexity of p-Chebyshev sets, decomposition of the space into its special subspaces, and we see a characterization of p-Chebyshev sets in ...

Linear operators in finite dimensional probabilistic normed spaces

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2008
In this paper, we consider strongly bounded linear operators on a finite dimensional probabilistic normed space and define the topological isomorphism between probabilistic normed spaces.

Lacunary statistically convergent double sequences in probabilistic normed spaces [PDF]

open access: yesAnnali Dell'Universita Di Ferrara, 2012
In this paper, we introduce the concepts of double lacunary statistically convergent and double lacunary statistically Cauchy sequences in probabilistic normed spaces.

Some topologies on a Šerstnev probabilistic normed space

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2008
In this paper we will introduce two other topologies, coarser than the so-called strong topology, on a class of Šerstnev probabilistic normed spaces, and obtain some important properties of these topologies.

A NEW APPROACH FOR PROBABILISTICALLY BOUNDED SETS IN MENGER PROBABILISTIC NORMED SPACES

International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, 2008
The main purpose of this paper is to introduce a new topological structure which is called fuzzifying topological structure determined by the method of co-tower topologies in Menger probabilistic normed spaces. We prove that the fuzzifying topological structure is compatible with the vector structure.
