Analytic solution for preferential attachment probabilities scheme [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Preferential attachment probabilities scheme appear in the context of scale free random graphs [1],[2]. In this work we present preferential attachment probabilities scheme as a sequence of dependent Bernoulli random variables and we give an explicit expression of the transition probabilities.

Time, the final frontier

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This article advocates integrating temporal dynamics into cancer research. Rather than relying on static snapshots, researchers should increasingly consider adopting dynamic methods—such as live imaging, temporal omics, and liquid biopsies—to track how tumors evolve over time.

Evaluation of synaptotagmin‐1 action models by all‐atom molecular dynamics simulations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We used molecular dynamics simulations to test models proposing that synaptotagmin‐1 facilitates membrane fusion by perturbing lipid bilayers, inducing membrane curvature and/or bridging membranes. The simulations show that synaptotagmin‐1 C2‐domains placed near the site of fusion hinder the ability of SNARE complexes to bring the membranes together ...

Comparative activity of dimethyl fumarate derivative IDMF in three models relevant to multiple sclerosis and psoriasis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IDMF is a derivative of dimethyl fumarate (DMF) with a unique therapeutic potential at the intersection of psoriasis and multiple sclerosis. Here, we demonstrate that it compares favorably with DMF and its other derivatives, such as Diroximel, in the zebrafish, microglia, and lymphocyte models.

Logical Probability Preferences [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We present a unified logical framework for representing and reasoning about both probability quantitative and qualitative preferences in probability answer set programming, called probability answer set optimization programs. The proposed framework is vital to allow defining probability quantitative preferences over the possible outcomes of qualitative

Pharmacological effects of osimertinib on a chicken chorioallantoic membrane xenograft model with the EGFR exon‐19‐deleted advanced NSCLC mutation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Osimertinib reduces angiogenesis and PDL1 expression in in ovo tumors, transforming them into ‘cold tumors’ with lower immune activity. Anatomopathological and transcriptomic analyses highlight its therapeutic impact on tumor biology. This study underscores osimertinib's potential to reshape the tumor microenvironment and provides insights into its ...

Decisions without Sharp Probabilities

open access: yesPhilosophia Scientiæ, 2015
Adam Elga [Elga 2010] argues that no principle of rationality leads from unsharp probabilities to decisions. He concludes that a perfectly rational agent does not have unsharp probabilities. This paper defends unsharp probabilities.

Multiscale probability transformation of basic probability assignment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Decision making is still an open issue in the application of Dempster-Shafer evidence theory. A lot of works have been presented for it. In the transferable belief model (TBM), pignistic probabilities based on the basic probability as- signments are used for decision making.
