Amplitude estimation of a sine function based on confidence intervals and Bayes' theorem
This paper discusses the amplitude estimation using data originating from a sine-like function as probability density function. If a simple least squares fit is used, a significant bias is observed for small amplitudes.

On the Smoothing of Probability Density Functions
Summary We consider the estimation of a probability density function by linear smoothing of the observed density. A basis for estimation is obtained by assuming that the ordinates of the true density function have a prior distribution such that adjacent ordinates are highly correlated.

Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Probability density functions involving a generalized r–Gauss hypergeometric function
The aim of this paper is to study r–generalized gamma functions of a particular form. Moreover, we define a new probability density function (p.d.f) involving these new generalized functions.

Newdistns: An R Package for New Families of Distributions
The contributed R package Newdistns written by the authors is introduced. This package computes the probability density function, cumulative distribution function, quantile function, random numbers and some measures of inference for nineteen families of ...

Improved Chebyshev inequality: new probability bounds with known supremum of PDF
In this paper, we derive new probability bounds for Chebyshev's inequality if the supremum of the probability density function is known. This result holds for one-dimensional or multivariate continuous probability distributions with finite mean and ...

Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

The fBm-driven Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process: Probability density function and anomalous diffusion
This paper deals with the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (O-U) process driven by the fractional Brownian motion (fBm). Based on the fractional Itô formula, we present the corresponding fBm-driven Fokker-Planck equation for the nonlinear stochastic differential ...

Probabilistic Robustness Analysis of Stochastic Jump Linear Systems
In this paper, we propose a new method to measure the probabilistic robustness of stochastic jump linear system with respect to both the initial state uncertainties and the randomness in switching.

We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.
