Probability density function of the local score position

open access: yesStochastic Processes and their Applications, 2019
We calculate the probability density function of the local score position on complete excursions of a reflected Brownian motion. We use the trajecto-rial decomposition of the standard Brownian bridge to derive two different expressions of the density: the first one is based on a series and an integral while the second one is free off the series.

Monte Carlo modeling of radiation dose from radiation therapy with superficial x‐rays

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Superficial x‐rays (50–100 kVp) are used for treating non‐melanoma skin cancer and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). At these energies, the photoelectric effect significantly increases absorbed dose to bone compared to soft tissue.

Toward a human‐centric co‐design methodology for AI detection of differences between planned and delivered dose in radiotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Many artificial intelligence (AI) solutions have been proposed to enhance the radiotherapy (RT) workflow, but limited applications have been implemented to date, suggesting an implementation gap. One contributing factor to this gap is a misalignment between AI systems and their users.

Clinical validation of myOSLchip: A beryllium oxide optically stimulated luminescent dosimeter (OSLD) system in radiotherapy dosimetry

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract In radiation oncology, inter‐fractional dosimetry using optically stimulated luminescent detectors (OSLDs) ensures accurate plan delivery and patient safety. RadPro International GmbH's myOLSchip system, featuring a beryllium oxide (BeO) OSL dosimeter, reader, and eraser, was characterized and calibrated with a Varian Truebeam for in‐vivo ...
