On the omega probability distribution
Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2019AbstractDombi, Jónás, Tóth, and Árva (Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2018, doi: 10.1002/qre.2425) introduced the omega probability distribution. They stated that main properties of this distribution are “difficult to deal with” analytically.

Reconciliation of Probability Distributions
Operations Research, 1983Several people each express their opinion of an uncertain quantity by providing their mean and standard deviation of it. In this paper we discuss the problem of incorporating all these opinions into a single, reconciled, probability distribution for the quantity. The usual procedure is least squares, based on normality.

Communicating Probability Distributions
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2007A rate distortion problem is solved that is motivated by a quantum data compression problem. The goal is to send information about a source string x so that a receiver can construct a second string y for which the joint empirical probability distribution of x and y is close to some desired distribution.

Probability and Probability Distribution
2017The theory of probability and statistics underlies all quantitative assessments relevant to pathology. Probability is a concept that occurs due to randomness. A random event or experiment has two main components of interest: the first is the “outcome” which is the result of the event that is being recorded. The second is “parameter” which is a constant

Probability and Probability Distributions
2014The concept of probability is relevant to experiments that have some uncertain outcomes. These are the situations in which, despite every effort to maintain fixed conditions, some variation of the result in repeated trials of the experiment is unavoidable.

Probabilities provide a measure of the uncertainty in our world, just as a ruler can describe its geometry. We live in at least 4 dimensions and require more complex measuring devices than a ruler to understand it. Similarly, a single probability that something is present now or will happen in the future can sometimes be an inadequate representation of

Probability Distributions on R
2000In Chapter 11 we considered the simple ease of distributions on (R,B). The case of distributions on (R n , B n ) for n = 2,3,... is both analogous and more complicated. [B n denotes the Borel sets of R n .]

Probability and Probability Distributions
1972In Chapter 1 we showed that the science of statistics is concerned with the interpretation of experimental results from random systems. One of the most important tools used in the development of the subject is a branch of mathematics called the Theory of Probability.

A Suprasystem of Probability Distributions
Biometrical Journal, 1982AbstractA set of differential equations is described whose solutions represent a general system of probability distribution functions. Previously reported systems of such distribution functions are special cases of this general system. The differential equations can be used to represent distribution functions and generate their related statistics in ...
