Changes in Immune‐Inflammation Status and Acute Ischemic Stroke Prognosis in Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Inflammation is a critical risk factor for poor outcomes in cerebral infarction. Prior studies focused primarily on baseline inflammation status, neglecting dynamic longitudinal changes. We try to investigate the association between immune‐inflammation status alterations and stroke prognosis, and evaluated three systemic biomarkers'

Mathematical Properties of the Binomial-Poisson Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management
This study conducts a thorough analytical exploration of the Binomial-Poisson distribution, a compound probability model where the number of Binomial trials follows a Poisson distribution. Through application of the compound distribution methodology and

Accurate and Practical Energy Detection over α-μ Fading Channels

open access: yesSensors, 2020
In this study, a novel and exact closed-form expression for detection probability of energy detection (ED) in terms of Meijer’s G-function over α-μ generalized fading channels was derived.

Discrete triangular distributions and non-parametric estimation for probability mass function [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nonparametric Statistics, 2007
Discrete triangular distributions are introduced, in order to serve as kernels in the non-parametric estimation for probability mass function. They are locally symmetric around every point of estimation. Their variances depend on the smoothing bandwidth and establish a bridge between Dirac and discrete uniform distributions.

Annihilation of the scalar pair into a photon on de Sitter spacetime

open access: yes, 2015
The annihilation of massive scalar particles in one photon on de Sitter expanding universe is studied, using perturbation theory. The amplitude and probability corresponding to this process is computed using the exact solutions of the Klein-Gordon and ...

The McCance Brain Care Score and Mortality: Evidence From a Large‐Scale Population‐Based Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to examine the relationship between the McCance Brain Care Score (BCS) and mortality in the general population. Methods We conducted a prospective, population‐based cohort study using data from the UK Biobank. Participants with complete data enabling calculation of BCS and full mortality information were included ...

On the Power-Law Tail in the Mass Function of Protostellar Condensations and Stars

open access: yes, 2003
We explore the idea that the power-law tail in the mass function of protostellar condensations and stars arises from the accretion of ambient cloud material on to a condensation, coupled with a nonuniform (exponential) distribution of accretion lifetimes.
