Screen‐Printed Flexible Piezoelectric Force Sensor Array with Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article introduces a flexible screen‐printed piezoelectric sensor array designed for low‐frequency healthcare applications such as tactile sensing and cardiovascular monitoring. The device integrates interface electronics enabling the simultaneous acquisition of up to 128 signals, along with flexible EMI shielding that significantly reduces noise ...

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Zeros of smallest modulus of functions resembling exp(z)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1982
To determine (in various senses) the zeros of the Laplace transform of a signed mass distribution is of great importance for many problems in classical analysis and number theory. For example, if the mass consists of finitely many atoms, the transform is

Removing Homocoupling Defects in Alkoxy/Alkyl‐PBTTT Enhances Polymer:Fullerene Co‐Crystal Formation and Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Estimating treatment sensitivity in synthetic and in vitro tumors using a random differential equation model

open access: yesnpj Systems Biology and Applications
Resistance to treatment, which comes from the heterogeneity of cell types within tumors, is a leading cause of poor treatment outcomes in cancer patients.

Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Poisson copoun distribution: An alternative discrete model for count data analysis

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
In this article, we have propounded a novel two-parameter count probability model by compounding the Poisson distribution with the Copoun distribution. This model is versatile in terms of its probability mass and hazard rate functions.
