ESTIMATION OF THE PROBABILITY OF DEFAULT BASED ON RELEVANT ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL INDICATORS [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Oradea: Economic Science, 2017
The credit risk is one of the main banking activity risks, with direct impact on the bank performance. Approaches based on internal rating models introduced by the Basel II agreement allow banks to use their own estimates for credit risk quantification ...

Economic Adjustment of Default Probabilities

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Business Science and Technology, 2016
This paper proposes a straightforward and intuitive computational mechanism for the economic adjustment of default probabilities, allowing the extension of the original (usually one-year) probability of default estimates for more than one period ahead.

Machine Learning for Green Solvents: Assessment, Selection and Substitution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Environmental regulations have intensified demand for green solvents, but discovery is limited by Solvent Selection Guides (SSGs) that quantify solvent sustainability. Training a machine learning model on GlaxoSmithKline SSG, a database of sustainability metrics for 10,189 solvents, GreenSolventDB is developed. Integrated with Hansen solubility metrics,

ESG COMMITMENT AND BANK'S DEFAULT RISK IN EMERGING AND DEVELOPING COUNTRIES: DOES ISLAMIC BANK MATTER?

open access: yesJournal of Islamic Monetary Economics and Finance
This paper examines the impact of ESG commitment on banks’ default risk in emerging and developing countries. Using a panel dataset comprising 157 banks from 28 countries over the period 2016-2022 and the Two-Step Generalized Method of Moments (2-Step ...

Hypofractionated Radiotherapy Induces ISG15+MHC‐I+ Neutrophils to Augment Anti‐Tumor Immunity and Prime Immune Checkpoint Blockade Responses in Rectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Our previous clinical trials had demonstrated that neoadjuvant hypofractionated radiotherapy (HFRT) combined with immunotherapy yields promising clinical outcomes in locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). However, this combined modality benefits only a subset of patients, highlighting the need to uncover the mechanisms underlying how ...

NanoLoop: A Deep Learning Framework Leveraging Nanopore Sequencing for Chromatin Loop Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chromatin loops are central to gene regulation and 3D genome organization. Leveraging Nanopore sequencing's ability to jointly capture DNA sequence and methylation, we present NanoLoop, the first framework for genome‐wide chromatin loop prediction using Nanopore data.

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Itch‐induced tick removal (IITR): An acquired neuroimmune mechanism, itch‐induced tick removal, develops after repeated tick exposure, mobilizing T cells and macrophages at the tick bite site to trigger a rapid scratching response that facilitates timely tick removal within a critical window that preces the transmission of many tick‐borne pathogens ...

A Functionally Conserved Enhancer is Critical for PGC1A Expression and Thermogenesis in Brown Fat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An evolutionarily conserved enhancer controls PGC1A expression and thermogenic activation in brown adipose tissue. Integrative multi‐omics analyses identify two BAT‐specific enhancers, with PGC1A‐En1 functioning as the dominant regulatory element that maintains thermogenic capacity across species.
