Precipitation imputation with probability space-based weighting methods

, 2020
Euclidean distance-based spatial interpolation methods that are conceptually simple are commonly used for the imputation of missing precipitation and other hydroclimatic variable datasets.

Conceptualising and measuring the location of work: Work location as a probability space

, 2020
There is currently considerable interest in workers performing tasks from a variety of workplaces, such as co-working spaces, transport-networks and cafés. However, it remains difficult to ascertain the extent to which this workplace mobility is altering

Probability theory

Quantitative Methods in Transportation, 2020
We collect in this chapter some basic notions and methods from probability theory. Our aim is to give a brief exposition of results that are repeatedly used in the analysis of randomized algorithms.

An Efficient Algorithm to Compute a Quantum Probability Space

IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, 2019
Learning algorithms based on probability organize the observed data in subsets corresponding to binary variables. In this paper, we address the problem of estimating one probability space given a set of observed data about $n$n variables or properties ...

Space debris collision probability analysis for proposed global broadband constellations

Acta Astronautica, 2018
Fragmentation events, caused by the collision of two objects in space, have been a significant source of space debris objects over a cumulative five decades of space activity.

Probability Space of Stochastic Fractals

Ukrainian Mathematical Journal, 2004
The authors propose a method to define random subsets of \(\mathbb R\) in such a way that the fractal dimension becomes a measurable functional. They introduce a class of \(c\)-systems of sets and prove that a finite measure on a \(c\)-system can be extended, in a unique way, to the minimal \(\sigma\)-algebra generated by the \(c\)-system.

Probability and the patient state space

International journal of clinical monitoring and computing, 1990
This paper describes work to develop a model-based system to support clinical decision-making. In previous articles, we have developed (from 695 measurement sets obtained from 148 patients) a physiologic state classification based on a set of 11 cardiovascular and metabolic measurements.
