Decision Procedures for Region Logic

2012
Region logic is Hoare logic for object-based programs. It features local reasoning with frame conditions expressed in terms of sets of heap locations. This paper studies tableau-based decision procedures for RL, the quantifier-free fragment of the assertion language.

A Decision Procedure for Countable Metrics

Proceedings of 2020 6th International Conference on Computing and Data Engineering, 2020
In this article, we show how to count metrics which is abstract to some degree and hard to illuminate. The range of these metrics would be the set of natural numbers which could then be exploited to further derive the countable metrics for rational numbers.

Procedural fairness enacted by societal actors increases social trust and social acceptance among ethnic minority members through the promotion of sense of societal belonging

, 2020
Although procedural fairness has been studied frequently during the past decades, little work has focused explicitly on how procedural fairness affects members of ethnic minorities in the context of multicultural decision-making processes. The aim of the

Hierarchic decision procedures for verification

2010

Bayes Burn-In Decision Procedures

Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 1990
The burn-in problem is reframed in a decision-making context. The role of the predictive life distribution in the burn-in decision problem is highlighted. The case in which the predictive distribution is a mixture of exponentials is discussed extensively.

A Framework for Cooperating Decision Procedures

2000
We present a flexible framework for cooperating decision procedures. We describe the properties needed to ensure correctness and show how it can be applied to implement an efficient version of Nelson and Oppen’s algorithm for combining decision procedures. We also show how a Shostak style decision procedure can be implemented in the framework in such a

Turning decision procedures into disprovers

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 2008
AbstractA class of many‐sorted polyadic set algebras is introduced. These generalise structure and model in a way that is relevant in regards to the Entscheidungsproblem and to automated reasoning.A downward Löwenheim‐Skolem property is shown in that each satisfiable finite conjunction of purely relational first‐order prenex sentences has a finite ...
