Students’ procedural knowledge on simplex method in linear programming: An explanatory sequential design

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Science and Mathematics Education
This study employed a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design to assess students' procedural knowledge in linear programming using the simplex method through quantitative tests, qualitative interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The objective

The virtual court action: Procedural facilitation in law [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
One of the difficulties of learning procedural law is that students need to understand and memorize the forms of action which can be carried out by parties to a case.

STUDENTS’ ERROR ANALYSIS ON LINEAR PROGRAM BASED ON THE KIAT MODEL AND STUDENTS’ LEARNING INTEREST

open access: yesKalamatika, 2022
KIAT categorizes three types of mistakes: conceptual, procedural, and technical errors. This study analyzes student errors in solving mathematical problems on linear programming material based on student learning interests.

A Comparative Analysis of Structured and Object-Oriented Programming Methods

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management, 2010
The concepts of structured and object-oriented programming methods are not relatively new but these approaches are still very much useful and relevant in today’s programming paradigm. In this paper, we distinguish the features of structured programs from

Understanding Students’ Failure to use Functions as a Tool for Abstraction – An Analysis of Questionnaire Responses and Lab Assignments in a CS1 Python Course

open access: yesInformatics in Education, 2021
Controlling complexity through the use of abstractions is a critical part of problem solving in programming. Thus, becoming proficient with procedural and data abstraction through the use of user-defined functions is important.

Underapproximation of Procedure Summaries for Integer Programs [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal on Software Tools for Technology Transfer, 2013
We show how to underapproximate the procedure summaries of recursive programs over the integers using off-the-shelf analyzers for non-recursive programs. The novelty of our approach is that the non-recursive program we compute may capture unboundedly many behaviors of the original recursive program for which stack usage cannot be bounded.

Identifying procedural structure in Cobol programs [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 1999 ACM SIGPLAN-SIGSOFT workshop on Program analysis for software tools and engineering, 1999
The principal control-flow abstraction mechanism in the Cobol language is the perform statement. Normally, perform statements are used in a straightforward manner to define parameterless procedures (where global variables are used to pass data into and out of procedure bodies).

Declarative Semantics in Object-Oriented Software Development - A Taxonomy and Survey [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering Innovations, 2016
One of the modern paradigms to develop an application is object oriented analysis and design. In this paradigm, there are several objects and each object plays some specific roles in applications. In an application, we must distinguish between procedural
