Three-loop HTLpt thermodynamics at finite temperature and chemical potential

open access: yes, 2015
In this proceedings we present a state-of-the-art method of calculating thermodynamic potential at finite temperature and finite chemical potential, using Hard Thermal Loop perturbation theory (HTLpt) up to next-to-next-leading-order (NNLO).

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

WHENCE AND TO WHERE

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, 1995
: We have come a long way with wild turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) research and management, and turkey populations now number in excess of 4 million. Previous National Wild Turkey Symposia have contributed to our understanding of wild turkey ecology and ...

Approximation of Lyapunov exponents in non-archimedean and complex dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We give two kinds of approximation of Lyapunov exponents of rational functions of degree more than one on the projective line over more general fields than that of complex numbers.Comment: 7 pages, to appear in the conference proceedings "Proceedings of ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Highest Energy Cosmic Rays

open access: yes, 2004
We review the current state and future prospect of ultra high energy cosmic ray physics and the relationship between cosmic rays and gamma-ray astrophysics.Comment: 12 pages, in the proceedings of the Gamma 2004 Symposium on High-Energy Gamma-Ray ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
