Process-Oriented Organizations
2020The main purpose of the chapter is to represent practical approach on the empirically-evaluated business process orientation (BPO) based on the research of the Slovenian power supply business. Within the empirical investigation, the level of BPO maturity was measured in the 19 organizations. The survey was focused on the top, middle, and lower managers.

Unleashing process orientation
Business Process Management Journal, 2010PurposeIn the past few years, process orientation (PO) as an integral part of enterprise system (ES) implementation has been the center of attention among practitioners and academics. The purpose of this paper is to shed light on the role of PO in ES implementation through an empirical study of Canadian and US firms.Design/methodology/approachA ...

The International Journal of Logistics Management, 2009
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to empirically develop a valid measurement scale for process orientation – a critical supply chain management (SCM) concept that warrants greater study.Design/methodology/approachThis study follows the measurement development approach proposed by Churchill. Data are collected from China.

There has recently been considerable debate over whether rational norms place constraints only on our beliefs and other attitudes at individual times, or whether they also, or instead, place constraints on the relationship between our attitudes at different times.

Proceedings of the 1988 ACM SIGPLAN workshop on Object-based concurrent programming -, 1988
This paper argues that co-routines are related to concurrent processes. By adding interrupt mechanisms languages containing co-routine mechanisms can be used for concurrency. It is also the intention to bring some of the terminology used in Simula constructs to the attention of others dealing with concurrency in object oriented languages.

Process-oriented model integration
[1988] Proceedings of the Twenty-First Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences. Volume III: Decision Support and Knowledge Based Systems Track, 2003The authors outline a process-oriented approach to model integration based on familiar notions from discrete-event simulation and communicating sequential processes. They introduce features of a model integration command language (MICL) that incorporates message-passing, demons, suspend/resume mechanisms, and structured programming constructs to ...

Process-oriented instruction: Some considerations
European Journal of Psychology of Education, 1995This paper does not attempt to be an introduction on process-oriented instruction by providing all the assumptions and key principles. It rather highlights the necessary epistemological shift in education from learning as a receptive process towards learning as a constructive process.

Process-Oriented Project Management
2001There are several fundamental differences between process-oriented project management and conventional technocratic models. The main difference lies in the wholistic way of seeing things and proceeding, or — to put it another way in the way it takes account of the strategic and political dimensions of project work.

Process-oriented simulation languages
ACM SIGSIM Simulation Digest, 1985This article presents a brief general discussion of simulation languages followed by a more detailed description of some the important important features of process-oriented languages. Event oriented languages and some of their properties are briefly covered.
