Capability analysis for Leagile manufacturing processes
Proceedings of the 14th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC), 2013In today's global market, there is constantly increasing pressure to do products more quickly, with more variety, at the lowest possible cost. To support further improving of the companies competitive advantage, combined systems such as Leagile manufacturing have been developed.

Process capability analysis of worm gearbox manufacturing
2020This research work is carried out in an industrial gearbox manufacturing plant. It is observed that the variations in the critical dimensions of the output in the worm gearbox manufacturing process unit are very high. The worm shaft and worm wheel are the two main components of the worm gearbox.

Autocorrelation's Effect on Process Capability Analysis
Asian Journal on Quality, 2009The deviation of process output is usually estimated through the range or deviation of the sub‐samples in the calculation of process capability indices (PCI) in quality management. There are autocorrelation between the adjacent data in many practical process outputs. But this influence on PCI is not considered in process capability analysis.

A managerial tool for process capability analysis
Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 1988AbstractMeasures of process capability are usually presented in straight numerical form. In this paper we present a technique which displays process capability measures graphically. We call this technique a Z‐Cp chart. It is a very simple and practical descriptive statistics tool which allows managers to see graphically how the different product lines ...

The robustness of modern process capability analysis
Computers & Industrial Engineering, 1991Abstract Process Capability indices such as Cp and Cpk are assumed to have the properties of normality, independence, and stationarity. Many processes may not take on the properties described previously. The approach to and analysis of non-normal process capability indices are presented in this paper.

Multivariate process capability using principal component analysis
Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2008AbstractWang and Chen (Qual. Eng. 1998; 11:21–27) have defined process capability indices (PCIs) for multivariate normal processes data using principal component analysis (PCA). Veevers (Statistical Process Monitoring and Optimization. Marcel Dekker: New York, NY, 1999; 241–256) has suggested a multivariate capability index based on the first principal

A Low Volume Production Process Capability Analysis
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2009Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Process Capability Indices (PCI) are used extensively within manufacturing and service environments. This paper reports the results of a statistical quality improvement programme when applied to a low volume, high gauge frequency machining process.

PROCESS CAPABILITY ANALYSIS WHEN DATA ARE AUTOCORRELATED
Quality Engineering, 1997When routine indices are used to assess process capability, autocorrelated data may lead to a biased estimate of the true capability and ultimately to wrong claims regarding the process performance. In this article, some of the undesirable effects that ..
