Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Intensification and performance assessment for synthesis of 2-methoxy-2-methyl-heptane through the combined use of different pressure thermally coupled reactive distillation and heat integration technique

open access: yes, 2019
2-methoxy-2-methyl-heptane (MMH) plays a key role in reformulated gasoline industry due to fewer environmental impacts than methyl tert-butyl ether. Thus, the design of MMH production process has received substantial attention. In this work, we propose a

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Recent Progress in High‐Entropy Alloy Electrocatalysts for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces
High‐entropy alloys (HEAs) materials, as promising nanomaterials, have garnered significant attention from researchers due to their excellent performance in the field of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The four core effects of HEAs, including the high‐

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Industrial catalytic processes intensification through the use of microreactors

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of this work was the intensification of two interesting industrial processes: 1. Biodiesel Production 2. Epoxidized Oils Production In the first case the reaction in traditional industrial reactors is strongly limited by mass transfer, due the ...

Synthesis of multi-shelled MnO2 hollow microspheres via an anion-adsorption process of hydrothermal intensification

open access: yes, 2016
In this study, multi-shelled manganese oxide hollow microspheres with controlled valence were successfully synthesized by varying the Mn-precursor and using an anion-adsorption process for hydrothermal intensification.
