Smart Fluorosurfactant‐Assisted Microfluidics Powered On‐Demand Generation and Retrieval of Cell‐Laden Microgels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A novel class of thermo‐responsive surfactants is developed for stabilizing and on‐demand demulsifying water‐in‐oil droplets in microfluidic systems. These surfactants enable temperature‐triggered recovery of cell‐laden hydrogel microgels without chemical demulsifiers. The approach offers a biocompatible and scalable solution for applications in tissue

SQL Queries for Declarative Process Mining on Event Logs of Relational Databases [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Flexible business processes can often be modelled more easily using a declarative rather than a procedural modelling approach. Process mining aims at automating the discovery of business process models. Existing declarative process mining approaches either suffer performance issues with real-life event logs or limit their expressiveness to a specific ...

Electrospun Vanadium Pentoxide (V2O5) Nanofibers for Enhanced Humidity Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Vanadium pentoxide (V2O5) nanofibers (NF) fabricated via electrospinning are analyzed and used for room‐temperature humidity sensing. Optimally performing porous NFs (∅ 200–500 nm) with high surface area (14.8 m2 g−1) are achieved at an annealing temperature of 500 °C.

Sustainable Flame‐Retardant Poly Lactic Acid Biocomposites Reinforced with Polyphosphate‐Enriched Microalgae: Unlocking the Potential of Hyper‐Compensation

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
This study explores microalgae cultivation for wastewater treatment and enhancement of poly lactic acid (PLA)‐based biocomposites. It achieves up to 99.9% nutrient removal, increases biomass productivity by 322%, and demonstrates a triphasic luxury phosphorus uptake system. Incorporation into PLA improves fire‐retardant properties, suggesting potential

Business Process Mining Approaches: A Relative Comparison [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Science, Technology & Management, 4(1):1557-1564, 2015, 2015
Recently, information systems like ERP, CRM and WFM record different business events or activities in a log named as event log. Process mining aims at extracting information from event logs to capture business process as it is being executed. Process mining is an important learning task based on captured processes.

Model-based Analysis of Mining Fairness in a Blockchain [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Mining fairness in blockchain refers to equality between the computational resources invested in mining and the block rewards received. There exists a dilemma wherein increasing the transaction processing capacity of a blockchain compromises mining fairness, which consequently undermines its decentralization.
