Mining Project-Oriented Business Processes

open access: yes, 2015
Large engineering processes need to be monitored in detail regarding when what was done in order to prove compliance with rules and regulations. A typical problem of these processes is the lack of control that a central process engine provides, such that it is di cult to track the actual course of work even if data is stored in ...

Programmable Klebsiella pneumoniae Phage Tropism Enabled by Scalable Receptor‐Binding Protein Mining and Modular Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a scalable, data‐driven strategy that turns the vast sequence diversity of phage receptor‐binding proteins into modular tools for engineering customizable phages. By clustering and experimentally validating diverse RBPs, the authors build an accurate map linking sequence to host specificity and create plug‐and‐play modules that ...

Simulation-Driven Mining Logistics Towards Sustainable and Reliable Production

open access: yesApplied Sciences
It is essential that the extracted raw material, after mining, is transported to its processing facility. In mining companies, this transfer is managed by a logistics system.

Ufmylation‐Deficient DDRGK1 Ameliorates Obesity by Inhibiting FASN‐Mediated Adipocyte Lipogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
DDRGK1 regulates de novo lipogenesis via stabilization of fatty acid synthase (FASN). DDRGK1‐mediated UFMylation of FASN prevents its ubiquitin–proteasomal degradation. Reduced DDRGK1 expression or mutation at the key UFMylation site enhances FASN degradation and suppresses fatty acid synthesis (FAS), resulting in smaller adipocytes and improved ...

Paving the Way to Elucidate Hg's Role in Tumorigenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumorigenesis can result from diverse environmental carcinogens. Among them, mercury—a lifelong bioaccumulative Group 2B carcinogen—has tumorigenic potential that remains poorly understood due to confounding co‐exposures and limited organ‐specific data.

Sandstone Layer Connectivity and Its Control on Coalbed Methane (CBM) Accumulation Based on Sequence Stratigraphic Analysis: A Case Study of the Lower Shihezi Formation in Qinan Coal Mine, Xuzhou–Suzhou Region, China

open access: yesEnergies
The sandstone layer connectivity in coal measure strata is one of the key factors in CBM escape in underlying coal seams, which lacks systematic research currently.

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.

Study on Sedimentary Environment and Organic Matter Enrichment Model of Carboniferous–Permian Marine–Continental Transitional Shale in Northern Margin of North China Basin

open access: yesEnergies
The shales of the Taiyuan Formation and Shanxi Formation in the North China Basin have good prospects for shale gas exploration and development. In this study, Well KP1 at the northern margin of the North China Basin was used as the research object for ...

The Regulatory Role of Iron Transporter SLC39A13 in Liver Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SLC39A13/ZIP13, a newly discovered intracellular iron transporter, delivers iron to the ER/Golgi to catalyze procollagen hydroxylation during collagen maturation. Here, we systematically characterize the cell type‐specific functions of ZIP13 across distinct hepatic cell populations, and identify hepatic stellate cell‐specific ZIP13 as a promising and ...

Mapping Genetic Regulation of Transcription to Identify Functional Variants and Genes Associated with Pancreatic Cancer Risk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Integration of a pancreatic eQTL map with a GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 82 putative functional variants and 15 genes. The association between rs11102484 and pancreatic cancer risk is observed in a total of 5699 cases and 8467 controls. The G allele of rs11102484 weakens ZNF263 binding and the silencer‐promoter interaction, thereby increasing ST7L ...
