Climate‐Driven Topographic Asymmetry Enhanced by Glaciers: Implications for Drainage Reorganization in Glacial Landscapes

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Climate contrasts across drainage divides, such as orographic precipitation, are ubiquitous in mountain ranges, and as a result, mountain topography is often asymmetric.

A Modelling Study of Post-Combustion Capture Plant Process Conditions to Facilitate 95–99% CO2 Capture Levels From Gas Turbine Flue Gases

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
The principal purpose of this study is to examine the changes in process conditions that might be needed to achieve up to 99% capture levels in amine post-combustion capture (PCC) plants for combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) flue gases.

Sustained Therapeutic Efficacy of Intravenous Plasminogen Concentrate in Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Plasminogen Deficiency: An Analysis of Dosing Parameters and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

Enhancing Turbidity Predictions in Coastal Environments by Removing Obstructions from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Multispectral Imagery Using Inpainting Techniques

open access: yesDrones
High-resolution remote sensing of turbidity in the coastal environment with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can be adversely affected by the presence of obstructions of vessels and marine objects in images, which can introduce significant errors in ...

Improved Early Referral in Long‐Term Survivor Care With Institutional Standardized Practice Among Childhood Leukemia Survivors#

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In 2018, the Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center Leukemia Program implemented a practice standard to support the transition from treatment to survivorship that includes shared, alternating care between leukemia and survivorship clinicians and a reminder to refer survivors to the long‐term survivor clinic (LTSC) 2 years after ...

Models of the reading process [PDF]

open access: yesWIREs Cognitive Science, 2010
AbstractReading is a complex skill involving the orchestration of a number of components. Researchers often talk about a ‘model of reading’ when talking about only one aspect of the reading process (e.g., models of word identification are often referred to as ‘models of reading’).

Health Literacy, Self‐Efficacy and Knowledge of Sickle Cell Disease Among Caregivers

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary blood disorder in which abnormal haemoglobin leads to severe anaemia, painful crises and organ failure. Caregivers’ health literacy (HL) – their ability to assess, understand and apply information, and interact with healthcare professionals – is crucial for managing children with SCD, yet ...

An Experimental Outlook on Quality Metrics for Process Modelling: A Systematic Review and Meta Analysis

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2023
The ideology behind process modelling is to visualise lengthy event logs into simple representations interpretable to the end user. Classifying process models as simple or complex is based on criteria that evaluate attributes of models and quantify them ...
