Improving quality with a manufacturing process

IEEE Software, 1991
A model that patterns software manufacturing after hardware manufacturing is presented. The model introduces a testing and analysis station between each development phase. At each station, the incoming product is tested and failure data are analyzed and compared with the quality criteria used.

A Process for Assessing Data Quality

2013 IEEE Sixth International Conference on Software Testing, Verification and Validation Workshops, 2013
This industrial contribution describes a tool support approach to assessing the quality of relational databases. The approach combines two separate audits - an audit of the database structure as described in the schema and an audit of the database content at a given point in time. The audit of the database schema checks for design weaknesses, data rule

Software Quality in the Objectory Process

1998
In this paper we discuss how software quality assurance is realized in Rational Objectory. Although much support is given through guidelines and checkpoints, the tool fails to provide clear goals and metrics for quality assessments and it only partially supports the phases in a measurement program.

Process control of product quality

ISA Transactions, 2003
This paper describes a method to control output product quality (product variability) by applying engineering or automatic process control (APC) and statistical process control (SPC) techniques. APC techniques have been used to control process variables such as feed rate, temperature, pressure, viscosity, and to product quality variables as well.

The quality of models for ARMA processes

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1998
The model error (ME) is an objective measure for assessing the quality of different models of a given ARMA process. The expression for ME can be evaluated easily in the time domain. This quality measure for known and given processes is necessary for an objective comparison of the performance of estimation algorithms and of order selection criteria.
