Integrating Random Forest With Boundary Enhancement for Mapping Crop Planting Structure at the Parcel Level From Remote Sensing Images

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Accurately and efficiently obtaining crop planting structure information is critical for precision agriculture. However, the current methods for mapping crop planting structure primarily use image pixels as the classification units, easily leading to ...

Differential Item Functioning on the Patient Health Questionnaire 8 by Disease Subtype, Language, Sex, and Age Among People With Systemic Sclerosis: A Scleroderma Patient‐Centered Intervention Network Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Somatic items used in depression assessments can potentially overlap with symptoms related to physical illness, including systemic sclerosis (SSc). No studies have looked at whether somatic depression items may be influenced by diffuse versus limited SSc disease subtypes, which are associated with varying degrees of symptom presentation.

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

The Evolution of Global Food Trade Systems and Their Resilience in Response to COVID-19: Performance Across Nations

open access: yesAgriculture
A resilient food trade system is crucial for global food security. The spatiotemporal changes in the trade of four main cereals (soybean, wheat, rice, and maize) and their responses to COVID-19 may serve as an efficient indicator of system resilience but

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.

How Many Floods Have Occurred in China in the Past Decade? A Perspective From Social Media

open access: yesEarth's Future
Global climate change has led to frequent and widespread flood disasters in China. Traditional flood disaster investigations mainly focus on major flood events, and small‐scale flood events are often overlooked.
