Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Weakening the nuclear envelope: Lamin B receptor in melanoma metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LBR‐driven nuclear fragility supports melanoma invasion. A: Melanocyte presents low LBR (Lamin B Receptor) levels, maintaining nuclear integrity and lamina‐chromatin tethering. B: During malignant progression, upregulation of LBR clusters at the INM (Inner Nuclear Membrane) during confined migration causes local lamina weakening and cholesterol ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

RENEWAL PROCESS FOR FUZZY VARIABLES

International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, 2007
Recently, Zhao and Liu [IJUFKS 11 (2003) 573–586] proposed a "fuzzy elementary renewal theorem" and "fuzzy renewal rewards theorem" for a renewal process in which the inter-arrival times and rewards are characterized as continuous fuzzy variables. The continuity assumption is restrictive.

Variables estimation in autogeneous processes

Automation and Remote Control, 2013
Variables of an autogeneous process are described. The suggested processing technique for experimental data gives a practical interpretation to the obtained results. Finally, a method of defining probabilistic relationships between different variables of the object is proposed.

Monitoring Process Variability for Stationary Process Data

Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2014
Processes that arise naturally, for example, from manufacturing or the environment, often exhibit complicated autocorrelation structures. When monitoring such a process for changes in variance, accounting for that structure is critical. While charts for monitoring the variance of processes of independent observations and some specific autocorrelated ...
