MORPHOLOGICAL AND MORPHOPHONEMIC PROCESS OF ALAY VARIATION

open access: yesLingua: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra dan Pengajarannya, 2015
This study reports the morphological and morphonemic process of  Alay variation as a communication model among Indonesia youth. Data were analysed by using qualitative approach applying thematic framing.

Position-Dependent Performance in 5 nm Vertically Stacked Lateral Si Nanowires Transistors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this work, we investigated the performance of vertically stacked lateral nanowires transistors (NWTs) considering the effects of series resistance. Also, we consider the vertical positions of the lateral nanowires in the stack and diameter variation ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Convergence to equilibrium for finite Markov processes, with application to the Random Energy Model

open access: yes, 2003
We estimate the distance in total variation between the law of a finite state Markov process at time t, starting from a given initial measure, and its unique invariant measure. We derive upper bounds for the time to reach the equilibrium.

Stein Variational Gaussian Processes

open access: yes, 2020
We show how to use Stein variational gradient descent (SVGD) to carry out inference in Gaussian process (GP) models with non-Gaussian likelihoods and large data volumes. Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) is extremely computationally intensive for these situations, but the parametric assumptions required for efficient variational inference (VI) result in ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Decreased female survival may help explain wild turkey population decline

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin
Recent declines in wild turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) populations have prompted extensive research efforts and adjustments to state hunting regulations across the range of wild turkeys.
