Variational procedure for time-dependent processes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2004
A simple variational Lagrangian is proposed for the time development of an arbitrary density matrix, employing the "factorization" of the density. Only the "kinetic energy" appears in the Lagrangian. The formalism applies to pure and mixed state cases, the Navier-Stokes equations of hydrodynamics, transport theory, etc.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Spintronic Content Addressable Memory With Integrated Boolean Logic and Arithmetic Functions

open access: yesIEEE Access
To address growing data processing demands, traditional von Neumann architectures face increased power consumption and delay issues. In response, this paper presents a novel latch-based hybrid CMOS/MTJ content-addressable memory (TCAM) designed to ...

An Active Resistor With a Lower Sensitivity to Process Variations, and its Application in Current Reference

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A novel active resistor circuit offering less sensitivity to process and temperature variations without any extra trimming is proposed. The circuit consists of two accurately matched, high resistance polysilicon (hripoly) resistors and a voltage ...

Evidence of ratchet effect in nanowires of a conducting polymer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Ratchet effect, observed in many systems starting from living organism to artificially designed device, is a manifestation of motion in asymmetric potential.

Airy Processes and Variational Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We review the Airy processes; their formulation and how they are conjectured to govern the large time, large distance spatial fluctuations of one dimensional random growth models. We also describe formulas which express the probabilities that they lie below a given curve as Fredholm determinants of certain boundary value operators, and the several ...

Treatment Decision‐Making Roles and Preferences Among Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Decision‐making (DM) dynamics between adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, parents, and oncologists remain underexplored in diverse populations. We examined cancer treatment DM preferences among an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse group of AYAs and their parents.

Variational Implicit Processes

open access: yes, 2018
We introduce the implicit processes (IPs), a stochastic process that places implicitly defined multivariate distributions over any finite collections of random variables. IPs are therefore highly flexible implicit priors over functions, with examples including data simulators, Bayesian neural networks and non-linear transformations of stochastic ...

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Cognitive Functioning in Vorinostat‐Treated Pediatric and Young Adult Patients Over the First 180 Days After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Cognitive and psychological difficulties could negatively interfere with treatment adherence and quality of life before and after hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). Methods to mitigate these changes may have positive effects on treatment success.
