The process of teaching process
1995In this paper, I propose a personal analysis of the teaching of software process. It is based on two ideas: (1) what is new with software process is not the concept but the realization that it could be an artifact, and (2) the comparison of engineering software with engineering physical artifacts can provide us with guidelines to design better ...

TikiWiki is a large open source project that embraces Eric Raymond's Bazaar model. TikiWiki is highly successful, yet it adopts a process that lacks many of the characteristics that are thought to be necessary for projects of comparable size and complexity. The article discusses TikiWiki's development in the context of these characteristics.

Image Processing with Process Migration
2015In this paper the preemptivemigration for the image processing is presented. The migration is defined based on the information policy, transfer policy and location policy. The tests for the image negative calculation were performed. In case of big images minimum 4000×4000 pixels the speedup 2.5 to 3 was achieved.

We first give a new definition of graph grammars, which, although following the algebraic double-pushout approach, is more general than the classical one because of the use of a graph of types where all involved graphs are mapped to. Then, we develop a process-based semantics for such (typed) graph grammars, in the line of processes as normally used ...

Perceptual Processing Affects Conceptual Processing
Cognitive Science, 2008AbstractAccording to the Perceptual Symbols Theory of cognition (), modality‐specific simulations underlie the representation of concepts. A strong prediction of this view is that perceptual processing affects conceptual processing. In this study, participants performed a perceptual detection task and a conceptual property‐verification task in ...

Anticipatory Processes in Sentence Processing
Language and Linguistics Compass, 2008Abstract Anticipation is an essential ability for the human cognitive system to survive in its surrounding environment. The present article will review previous research on anticipatory processes in sentence processing (comprehension). I start by pointing out past research carried out with inadequate methods, then move on to reviewing

Career counselling: a process in process
British Journal of Guidance and Counselling, 1997Abstract Career counselling, career guidance, and career interventions are terms in the process of evolution. Historical and contemporary factors in the US experience that have changed and expanded the needs for career counselling and related career interventions are discussed.

An initial process decision table and a process evolution process
Proceedings of the 2014 International Conference on Software and System Process, 2014The Incremental Commitment Spiral Model (ICSM) presented in an ICSSP 2014 tutorial includes several decision milestones at which evidence of the feasibility of the proposed process is evaluated, and at which the stakeholders decide whether to proceed with it or to change course, based on the risk of proceeding with the proposed process.
