Use of Prochilodus lineatus meat for burger making [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Food Technology, 2020
Abstract The study aimed to elaborate burgers with fillet and pulp (fish carcass meat) of grumatã (Prochilodus lineatus), and to evaluate its centesimal composition, microbiological and sensorial properties. Three formulations were prepared. One was prepared with the fillet (0% pulp), and the remaining two contained 15% or 30% pulp (instead of fillet),

Genomic Signatures of Endemic Pathogen Exposure in a Declining Amphibian. [PDF]

open access: yesMol Ecol
ABSTRACT Endemic wildlife diseases can impose strong selection on threatened populations, yet whether persistence is associated with adaptive genomic responses remains poorly understood. We tested whether long‐term exposure to Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) following population declines has left detectable selection signatures in the genome of the

Atresia Folicular en Ovarios de Prochilodus lineatus [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Morphology, 2012

Hybridization, Maternal Inheritance, and Evolutionary Time of Divergence of Endangered Species of Hypancistrus (Siluriformes: Loricariidae) in the Xingu River. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
We uncover recent hybridization dynamics among three endemic Hypancistrus species from the Xingu River, including the critically endangered H. zebra. Mitogenomic analyses reveal unidirectional maternal inheritance and recent evolutionary radiation (< 0.5 Ma), explaining their retained reproductive compatibility.

Morphological development of larvae and juveniles of Prochilodus argenteus [PDF]

open access: yesCiência Rural, 2017
ABSTRACT: Prochilodus argenteus is an endemic fish species from the São Francisco River basin that is of high economic and environmental importance. The present study aimed to contribute with information to the taxonomic identification of larvae and juveniles of this species. Larvae , obtained from induced spawning of wild animals, were reared in ponds.
