Cellular responses of Prochilodus lineatus hepatocytes after cylindrospermopsin exposure
Cylindrospermopsin is a potent toxicant for eukaryotic cells produced by several cyanobacteria. Recently, primary hepatocyte cultures of Neotropical fish have been established, demonstrating to be a quite efficient in vitro model for cellular toxicology studies.

Plasticity in the shape and growth pattern of asteriscus otolith of black prochilodus Prochilodus nigricans (Teleostei: Characiformes: Prochilodontidae) freshwater Neotropical migratory fish [PDF]
ABSTRACT Using morphometric measurements and wavelets functions, the asterisci otoliths of curimatã, Prochilodus nigricans were analysed to identify the variation in shape and growth increment of individuals from Solimões, Japurá and Negro rivers of the Amazon basin, Brazil.

Exploring ecohydrology through the lens of local fishers in the Bolivian Amazon
Abstract The natural flow regimes of Andean‐Amazon tributaries play a vital role in sustaining their rich biodiversity and productive local fisheries, but ongoing and proposed alteration of river flow regimes by large dams threatens to negatively impact river ecosystems. Despite its importance, our understanding of how hydrologic variability influences

Eco‐Evo‐Hydraulics: Integrating Fish Evolution Into Ecohydraulics for Conservation
Abstract Riverine fish conservation in eco‐hydraulics is often based on restoring or regulating river habitat to a semi‐natural state. For example, ecohydraulic projects support fish populations by increasing river connectivity through fishways, and by maintaining or restoring natural flow variance to enhance habitat quality and availability.

Invasive Fishes Interact With Temperature to Reshape Community Size Structure Across Climatic Zones
Non‐native fishes are reshaping lacustrine communities across climatic zones worldwide through trophic‐ and temperature‐dependent pathways that are leading to flatter size spectrum exponents and a decline in the total biomass of the native community.

SEASONAL VARIATION IN SEMINAL QUALITY IN BRAZILIAN BOCACHICO (TELEOSTEI, CHARACIFORMES)
The Brazilian bocachico, Prochilodus brevis, is a rheophilic fish. Although there is evidence that this species shows reproductive seasonality in the wild, in captivity hormonal induction techniques allow semen sampling in different seasons.
