Genotoxic and oxidative damage in the freshwater teleost Prochilodus lineatus exposed to the insecticides lambda-cyhalothrin and imidacloprid alone and in combination.

Mutation research, 2019
In agricultural areas insecticides mixtures are frequently used, such as the combination of the pyrethroid lambda-cyhalothrin (LC) together with the neonicotinoid imidacloprid (IMI).

Biotransformation in the fish Prochilodus lineatus: an organ-specific approach to cyp1a gene expression and biochemical activity.

Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2020
The biotransformation ability of the organism is the result of organ-specific responses. This paper presents a molecular and biochemical approach to elucidate the biotransformation mechanisms in different organs of Prochilodus lineatus induced at 6, 24 ...

Lead accumulation and its effects on the branchial physiology of Prochilodus lineatus

Fish Physiology and Biochemistry, 2013
The purpose of this work was to determine the tissue accumulation of lead (Pb) and its effects on osmoregulatory processes of the freshwater fish Prochilodus lineatus. Juvenile fish were exposed to Pb (from 1.7 to 0.7 mg of dissolved Pb L(-1)) for 6, 24 and 96 h and Pb accumulation was analyzed in the gills, liver, kidneys, blood cells and muscle.

Histology, histochemistry and stereology of the adipose fin of Prochilodus lineatus

Microscopy Research and Technique, 2011
AbstractThe adipose fin is small, nonpared, and usually located medially between the dorsal and caudal fin. Its taxonomic occurrence is very restrict; thus, it represents an important trace for taxon distinction. As it does not play a known vital physiological roll and it is easily removed, it is commonly used in marking and recapture studies.

Ultrastructural, ssrDNA sequencing of Myxobolus prochilodus and Myxobolus porofilus and details of the interaction with the host Prochilodus lineatus

Parasitology Research, 2016
Myxobolus prochilodus and Myxobolus porofilus are parasites of Prochilodus lineatus, an economically important South American fish found in La Plata and Paraiba do Sul river basins. This study focusing on parasite-host interaction provides an ultrastructural and phylogenetic analysis, the latter based on ssrDNA sequencing of these parasites ...

Effect of Amide on Semen Cryopreservation of Curimba (Prochilodus lineatus).

Cryo letters, 2021
The low molecular weight and high cellular permeability of amides make them suitable for use as penetrative cryoprotectants for sperm cells. This study aims to evaluate the effect of dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethylacetamide (DMA) on sperm cryopreservation of Curimba (Prochilodus lineatus).Semen samples were diluted in media containing ...

Effect of Melatonin on Cryopreserved Sperm of Prochilodus lineatus (Characiformes).

Cryo letters, 2019
Semen cryopreservation is a technique widely used in commercial and conservation fish farms. However, the success of the technique will depend on the diluent and cryoprotectant solutions added to the semen prior to the freezing procedure. To evaluate the effects of different doses of melatonin on motility, morphology and fertilization capacity of ...

Study of the embrionary development in sábalo (Prochilodus lineatus)

2010
