Proceedings of SPE Health, Safety and Environment in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Conference, 1994
ABSTRACT In 1992, PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia oil field operations in Sumatra resulted in 680,000 barrels of oil produced daily and 4,600,000 barrels of slightly brackish produced water. This paper discusses the systems in operation to separate oil, gas and water to provide oil for export, gas for power generation and ...

SUMMARY Produced water represents an increasing part of the total production from the process centres operated by Mærsk Olie og Gas in the Danish part of the North Sea. Long term production forecasts predict that some 200 million bbls produced water will require cleaning the next ten years.

Produced Water Discharge Monitoring
Offshore Technology Conference, 2008Abstract This paper describes how Memorial University is using a new ocean going autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) to collect ocean environmental monitoring data to take detailed environmental measurements in the water column and to validate ocean environmental monitoring and modeling tools.

North Sea Produced Water Systems
SPE Offshore Europe, 1985ABSTRACT North Sea platform produced water systems were designed up to 10 years ago utilising plant largely developed for other industries. Generally the systems were designed without adequate knowledge of the produced water itself or the flow-rates.

Produced Water Reinjection (PWRI)
1996As the oil producing fields in the Norwegian sector mature, the volumes of water produced will increase. The standard offshore method for produced water disposal is to remove excess oil down to the legal specification which currently is 40 mg/l hydrocarbons.

Polymer Flood Produced Water Treatment Trials
Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, 2014Abstract Polymer enhanced oil recovery (EOR) operation has been implemented for the production of oil from difficult mature oilfields in Oman. The polymer used in this EOR technique to sweep oil toward production wells is resulting in the generation of polymer flood produced water (PFPW) of increasing viscosity.

Stretched arc discharge in produced water
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2015The objective of the present study was to investigate the feasibility of stretching an arc discharge in produced water to increase the volume of produced water treated by plasma. Produced water is the wastewater generated by hydraulic fracturing of shale during the production phase in shale-oil or shale-gas exploration.

Produced Water Monitoring and Developing Risk Profiles for Produced Water Re-Injection
SPE North Africa Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2015Abstract Online particle measurement is one of the key technologies in characterising fluid quality and developing strategies to ensure the efficient operation of and optimise any separation process. Online imaging systems have the benefit of being able use their multi-dimensional data to provide more information than just particle size,

Development of water‐immersion produced analgesia
Developmental Psychobiology, 1995AbstractNociceptive and antinociceptive systems change dramatically during the first 10 days of life in rats. The present studies sought to determine whether exposure to water stress can produce analgesia during this period, and when in the ontogeny changes in magnitude and duration of such stress‐induced analgesia occur.
