Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

On homotopy nilpotency of some suspended spaces

open access: yesPracì Mìžnarodnogo Geometričnogo Centru, 2021
A homological criterium from [Golasiński, M., On homotopy nilpotency of loop spaces of Moore spaces, Canad. Math. Bull. (2021), 1–12] is applied to investigate the homotopy nilpotency of some suspended spaces.

Root cause analysis of product service failures in design-A closed-loop lifecycle modelling approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A number of industries including aerospace, telecom and automotive incur warranty and product return costs due to product malfunctions in service, which can also negatively impact customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Product Space Clustering with Graph Learning for Diversifying Industrial Production

open access: yesApplied Sciences
During economic crises, diversifying industrial production emerges as a critical strategy to address societal challenges. The Product Space, a graph representing industrial knowledge proximity, acts as a valuable tool for recommending diversified product

Applying the Dark Target aerosol algorithm with Advanced Himawari Imager observations during the KORUS-AQ field campaign [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2019
For nearly 2 decades we have been quantitatively observing the Earth's aerosol system from space at one or two times of the day by applying the Dark Target family of algorithms to polar-orbiting satellite sensors, particularly MODIS and VIIRS.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Products of straight spaces

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2009
A metric space X is straight if for each finite cover of X by closed sets, and for each real valued function f on X, if f is uniformly continuous on each set of the cover, then f is uniformly continuous on the whole of X. A locally connected space is straight if it is uniformly locally connected (ULC). It is easily seen that ULC spaces are stable under

Marketing manufacturer and retailer house brands: A study of shelf space in two product categories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This article investigates shelf space allocation in the marketing of manufacturer brands (national brands) and retailer house brands (store brands) in the consumer packaged goods sector in a highly concentrated grocery retail environment.
