Old Instruments, New Agendas: The Chemical Brothers and the ARP 2600
A preference for old vintage music equipment is widespread in electronic dance music. My point of departure for a discussion of this phenomenon is an interview from Keyboard magazine in which the members of the production duo the Chemical Brothers ...

CAPITAL-SKILL COMPLEMENTARITY? EVIDENCE FROM A PANEL OF COUNTRIES [PDF]
Since Griliches (1969), researchers have been intrigued by the idea that physical capital and skilled labor are relatively more complementary than physical capital and unskilled labor.

Dynamic Decoration of DNA Scaffolds for High‐Resolution Cancer Cell Subtyping
This study presents a dual‐mode imaging platform that utilizes self‐assembly and disassembly of DNA scaffolds for high‐resolution cancer cell detection. The structural rigidity of DNA scaffolds effectively prevents cellular internalization for over 300 min.

Generating Dynamic Structures Through Physics‐Based Sampling of Predicted Inter‐Residue Geometries
While static structure prediction has been revolutionized, modeling protein dynamics remains elusive. trRosettaX2‐Dynamics is presented to address this challenge. This framework leverages a Transformer‐based network to predict inter‐residue geometric constraints, guiding conformation generation via physics‐based iterative sampling. The resulting method

Russian Growth Path and TFP Changes in Light of the Estimation of Production Function using Quarterly Data [PDF]
We present estimations of a Cobb-Douglas production function with a steady change in TFP (total factor productivity) for the Russian economy, using quarterly data for the favorable period 1998Q3–2008Q2 and the period 1995Q1–2010Q2 as well.

Bioenergy Cropping Reduces the Spatiotemporal Scaling of Soil Bacterial Biodiversity
Consistent with patterns observed in plant and animal communities, soil bacterial communities exhibit significant species–time–area and phylogenetic–time–area relationships independent of nested structure. Bioenergy cropping significantly reduces the spatiotemporal scaling rates, particularly in sandy loam soils.

Assessing the Contribution of Public Capital to Private Production: Evidence from the German Manufacturing Sector [PDF]
Using time-series cross-section data from the manufacturing sector of the 11West German 'Bundesl ¨ander' (Federal States) from 1970 to 1996, I examine the impact of public capital on private production.

Two macromolecular resistance‐reversal agents (MRRAs)—linear (MRRAL) and nanostructured (MRRAN) polymers were fabricated by integrating DOTA motifs into tunable polycationic scaffolds. MRRAs exhibit superior antibacterial potency once combined with meropenem (MEM) through (i) bacterial membrane disruption via localized cationic charge and ...

Investment in Energy Infrastructure and the Tax Code [PDF]
Federal tax policy provides a broad array of incentives for energy investment. I review those policies and construct estimates of marginal effective tax rates for different energy capital investments as of 2007.

Direct Recycling of Mixed‐Oxide Cathodes: Balancing Cost, Performance and Environmental Trade‐Offs
Direct regeneration routes for mixed‐oxide lithium‐ion battery cathodes are systematically compared using harmonized techno‐economic, electrochemical, and environmental metrics. Solid‐state, hydrothermal, molten salt, electrochemical, and chemical relithiation methods are benchmarked to identify performance, cost, and sustainability trade‐offs.
