On the control of hnRNA production

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1982
Abstract A model of the control system governing the production of heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA) in animal cells is presented. It is postulated that a subset of tightly-bound chromosomal molecules controls the availability of those DNA sequences at which the transcription of hnRNA templates may be initiated.

Control of Platelet Production

Clinics in Haematology, 1983
SUMMARY Figure 2 indicates one possible scheme of the regulation of platelet production based on receptor theory superimposed upon the anatomical considerations discussed earlier (Burstein et al, 1981b; Iscove et al, 1982). The multipotent haematopoietic stem cell may have receptors for early regulatory factor(s) such as meg-CSF, burst-promoting ...

Production modelling for holistic production control

Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory, 2013
Abstract Holistic production control is a concept that introduces production optimisation by employing model-based, closed-loop control of the principal production Performance Indicators (pPIs). The concept relies on the development of a simple black-box model that describes the relation between the main pPIs and the most influential input ...
