Evaluation of wind energy potential as a power generation source for electricity production in Binalood, Iran

Renewable Energy, 2013
In this paper, the hourly measured wind speed data for years 2007e2010 at 10 m, 30 m and 40 m height for Binalood region in Iran have been statically analyzed to determine the potential of wind power generation. The study showed that the long-term wind speeds were found to be relatively high.

Historical and Status Quo Analysis on the Production and Consumption of China’s Electric Power Energy

2012
This article makes deep research work on the history and status quo of the production and consumption of China’s electric power energy by analyzing the data in detail. It studies the change tendency of the total production of China’s electric power energy from 1990, and studies the ratio of the amount generated by different sources of electric power to

Spatial interactions among oscillating wave energy converters: Electricity production and power quality issues

IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016
Point absorbers, i.e. wave energy converters (WECs) whose characteristic dimensions are small with respect to the typical wavelength, are designed to be installed in arrays, in order to get a cost-effective power generation. Starting from a coupled hydrodynamic - electromagnetic model of a heaving point absorber, this paper presents an in-depth ...

Probabilistic analysis of electrical energy costs comparing: production costs for gas, coal and nuclear power plants

Energy Policy, 2005
This paper considers the probabilistic analysis of lifetime discounted costs of electrical energy if produced in coal-fired, gas-fired and nuclear plants entering in operation in Croatia (similar as is in neighboring European countries) versus the end of this decade. The calculation considers all relevant costs in the period of loan repayment and after

Energy management in a stand-alone power system for the production of electrical energy with long term hydrogen storage

2008
This paper deals with the importance of an efficient energy (or power) management strategy (EMS) on an existing stand-alone power system that uses renewable energy sources for the production of electrical energy. Due to the intermittent nature of the renewables, part of this energy is used to split the water for the production of hydrogen, which is ...

The electricity production capacity of photovoltaic power plants and the selection of solar energy sites in Andalusia (Spain)

Renewable Energy, 2008
The privileged climate and orographic setting of southern Spain give Andalusia an enormous potential for the installation of photovoltaic power plants connected to electricity grids and also for individual use. These circumstances as well as the present energy crisis, largely stemming from the world's dependence on fossil fuels, justify this research ...

Performance evaluation of hydrogen production based on off-peak electric energy of the nuclear power plant

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2017
Abstract The article investigates the efficiency of commercial hydrogen production by water electrolysis on the base of NPP excess energy with its additional purification higher than 99.9999%, considering its transport. The competitive high purity hydrogen release price has been determined as compared to the market price.

Short-term electric energy production forecasting at wind power plants in pareto-optimality context

Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2017
Abstract The paper discusses the possibilities of multi-criteria optimisation of a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) model applied to the short-term (intra- and next-day) wind power forecasting problem. The paper comprises two main parts: a theoretical background and study case using data (wind power production and historical weather forecast) obtained ...
