Trust-less electricity consumption optimization in local energy communities

open access: yesEnergy Informatics, 2019
Optimizing energy consumption in local energy communities is one of the key contributions to the so-called smart grid. Such communities are equipped with rooftop photovoltaic power plants or other forms of small power plants for local energy production ...

The paths to carbon neutrality in the Russian electric power industry

open access: yesВестник университета, 2022
The Paris Climate Agreement has endorsed a strategic course towards “carbon neutrality” by 2050. Currently, all or at least most of the anthropogenic CO2 emission in Russia is absorbed by forests.

Optimisation of Hybrid Energy System Production Parameters for Electricity Power Generation in Nigeria

open access: yesEnergy and Power Engineering, 2018
Solar and wind energy are two of the most viable and sustainable sources of energy due to the tendency of renewal. The power generating supplies in Nigeria appear unreliable, rapidly diminishing and expensive. Researches are sparse on operating both energy sources alongside fossil fuel for power generation in order to take advantage of their ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Wave power conversion systems for electrical energy production

open access: yesRE&PQJ
Due to economic social cohesion, the European Union is promoting to improve the production of electrical energy from renewable energy sources. Sea waves have associated a form of renewable energy which can be captured by using a hydro mechanical device that in turn drives an electrical generator to produce electrical energy.
