Production planning and control tools

open access: yesProduction Planning and Control, 2000
There are numerous tools available to be used for production planning and control purposes. The number of tools is ever increasing, and so are the levels of sophistication as well as complexity.

A DSS for production planning

International Transactions in Operational Research, 1994
This paper presents a decision support system designed to aid the production planner in choosing the values of the principle parameters governing just‐in‐time manufacturing. The DSS uses a knowledge base composed of data from simulations of the production of the entire product line under systematically varied conditions.

Visualization of Production Planning

2019 23rd International Conference Information Visualisation (IV), 2019
The design of production planning tools is primarily based on conventions which can be found in research on visual perception and how data is traditionally represented. Standardized forms have become everyday tools and are an essential part of our visual culture.

Stochastic Production Planning with Production Constraints

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1984
The authors consider an infinite horizon stochastic production planning problem with the constraint that the production rate must be non- negative. They first establish the existence of an optimal feed-back solution for the problem. Subsequently they characterize the solution and compare it with the solution of the unconstrained problem.

Production planning in a software product line organization

Proceedings of the 17th International Software Product Line Conference, 2008
Summary form only given. Most software product line organizations recognize the need for two roles: core asset developers and product builders. These roles may both be assumed by an individual or each may be assumed by persons who are in different administrative units, in different geographic locations, or of vastly different skill levels.

The Product Plan

1981
The areas of marketing policy to be reviewed in the compilation of a product plan will vary considerably from organisation to organisation and, within any one organisation, from market to market, or from brand to brand: (1) One major variable in drawing up a product plan is the quantity and quality of data that is available to the marketing ...
